Photos from "Christmas Photo Shoot"

I lied two blog posts ago. I said the next blog post would include photos from our Spouses' Party/Cookie Exchange Photo Shoot and then I posted photos from our other Christmas party.

Sorry! I didn't mean to lie. I am just scatterbrained. ;)

But, here are a few of the photos from our little Outrageous Christmas Attire Photo Shoot. We had a lot of fun that night. :)

There was nothing really outrageous about my outfit. I ran out of time to be outrageous and went with my old faithful kid decorated Christmas shirt.

We had elves and reindeer...

Christmas photos

A few weeks ago, we had the Battalion Christmas party. G-Dub played Santa again this year.

He made a few babies cry. But, obviously, it wasn't his fault. He's a nice guy after all. Photobucket Photobucket
The volunteers did an excellent job of decorating the hangar for the party.

I think the chinook actually looked like a fictional character in this photo.

I was working the day of decorating and of the party, so I missed out on the preps. I was just able to attend. And deliver my wish list to Santa. :)

Yummy foods

A group of wives from the Battalion get together one night each month for a Spouses' Social. This month, I cohosted along with two other friends. We opted for a Cookie Exchange and party. We dressed in our most outrageous Christmas attire (for a fun photo shoot)and had a great time!

I made Brown Sugar Shortbread cookies. Yum. I found the recipe here. I tried and tried to make pretty little logs like hers. After the third batch that was just wonky, I gave up and went for circular cookies instead. They still tasted just as yummy!

And, I made a cranberry salsa as an appetizer.

The centerpiece of our food table was my friend's chocolate fountain.

Next blog post, I'll share some photos from our photo shoot. ;)

It wouldn't feel right

if I didn't share my Little Metal Tree decorated for Christmas. :D In the past, I've used silver and red balls for Christmas. Last year after Christmas, I took the red balls off and replaced them with snowflakes for the month of January. This year, I decided to go for overkill and put all three on there! Silver balls, red balls and snowflakes from the get go!

I love it!

Backing off...

I've had those reindeer since the 80s when Burger King was selling them. They are Hallmark company, but for reasons I can't remember, they were a BK item way back when.
And, for good measure, the overall view I see when I walk in the door of the apartment. :)

Ah, this is Christmas...

Cub Scout Snowman

The Cub Scout Pack made ornaments to decorate a Cub Scout themed tree. I volunteered to find the craft for our den's ornaments. I wanted something cheap, easy and somewhat weather resistant.

I chose snowmen made out of gloves. Didn't this one turn out cute? :D

We tucked the thumb in on a regular white work gloves. Then we recycled plastic bags for stuffing the other fingers. A few rubber bands were used to section him off so he didn't look like a tooth with legs. Then, we glued the arms up and glued the cuff down to form his hat. A ribbon, two googly eyes and some markings for other features completed the look.
